BASINGSTOKE, England - Jan. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- Inspired by the BBC Wildlife programme 'Wild Burma', award-winning Far East specialist Bamboo Travel has created a three-week adventure tour of the same name that encompasses many of the very best wildlife opportunities currently available in Myanmar.

For ‘twitchers’ there will be numerous bird watching excursions and a day learning to be a ‘mahout’ at an elephant conservation project, plus a chartered boat trip to witness the extraordinary co-operative fishing technique shared between villagers and river dolphins, and a trek through the mountainous Chin state to Nat Ma Taung - the highest mountain in Western Burma.

In addition to the numerous exciting wildlife encounters, there will be a heavy emphasis on culture, with visits to local villages to meet the Chin tribes and their tattooed ladies.

The holiday will commence with a private tour of the Burmese capital, Yangon, where the first two nights will be spent.

The first birding excursions will take place in Moeyungyi Wetlands and HlawgaNational Park, before flying to Bagan and on to Kanpetlet in the Chin Hills for trekking, wildlife spotting in Mount Victoria National Park. and visits to a number of Chin villages.

Following a guided tour of Bagan's ancient temples there will be a flight to Mandalay to board a private charter boat up the Irrawaddy, stopping at a local fishing village to witness the co-operative fishing between locals and the Irrawaddy Dolphins.

On day 15 of the suggested itinerary – all itineraries can be tailored to the needs of guests – there will be a chance to visit the Green Hill Valley Elephant Camp for a full- day, hands-on experience at this important conservation project.

Inle Lake is one of the best places in the whole of Burma for bird watching and there will a private boat available to cruise the lake and spot the amazing wildlife with a local guide, before flying back to Yangon to begin the journey home.

The best time to enjoy the Wild Burma itinerary is from November to March and it costs from £3,860 per person (two sharing) which includes international and domestic flights, 17 nights’ B&B (plus 8 lunches and 2 dinners) private transfers and tours, private English-speaking guides and wildlife guides.
