| Gershow Recycling Provides Aluminum Scrap for High School Robotics TeamsBy: Gershow Recycling Local high school robotics teams and their mentors What: For the fourth year in a row, Gershow Recycling is opening its scrap yard to local high school robotics teams who need aluminum scrap. The teams will use the scrap to construct their 120-pound robots that will compete in the 15th annual Long Island FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition (FRC) on March 27-29 at Hofstra University. Teams scheduled to attend thus far include Half Hollow Hills West, Hauppauge, Longwood, Malverne, North Shore, Northport and Sachem. When: Saturday, January 18, 2014 8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Where: Gershow Recycling 71 Peconic Avenue Medford, NY Directions: LIE to Exit 64. Take Route 112 South to Patchogue. Go 0.7 mile.
