MCL and EMR Technical Solution Publish White Paper on Open Source Software in the Federal Sector

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Jan. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- FREDERICKSBURG, VA (January 15, 2013) – MCL & Associates, Inc. and EMR Technical Solutions LLC, today announced their jointly authored white paper, “Using Open Source Software for IT Innovation.”  The paper reports how in six weeks, a team of three college students with no industry experience and only academic software-specific knowledge, developed and designed a Health Care Provider Search system using only Open Source Software (OSS).

On January 10, 2014, the Healthcare Provider Search Web Site - an internet site that allowed users to freely search for both individual and business healthcare providers - was implemented at: http://xenvcounts10.srihosting.com/www/. Its MariaDB backend contained in excess of 4-million records, taken from public sources.
