Follow on Google News | Brett Skilbred of Jordan Sands Joins Silica and Sand Rulemaking Advisory PanelBy: Coughlan Companies Members of the panel will include local government representatives from Hay Creek Township, Scott County, Lime Township and City of Wabasha; citizens the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy, Lake City, Goodhue County, Winona County and Houston County. Other Industry representatives are from Fairmount Minerals, Unimin Corp., Jordan Sands, a Sand Mine Operator, Mathy Construction and Aggregate and Ready Mix Association. The council will be vetting the rules of silica sand that are being considered by the state and local pollution control organizations. Nathan Cooley, the MPCA’s rule coordinator for silica sand, will be the main contact for the panel. “Because Brett has built a significant knowledge base in permitting silica sand mining and processing operations in Minnesota, I feel he will make a great contribution to the panel,” said Scott Sustacek, CEO of Jordan Sands. “Most importantly, he has built meaningful working relationships with state and local officials and our community.
