On Thursday, February 6, Waldorf School of the Peninsula will be holding a special evening open to the public, A Renaissance in Education, at its middle and high school campus in Mountain View. This exhibition-style event will feature student academic work in sciences, math, humanities and languages, a display of fine and practical art, and student performances in drumming, orchestra, Eurthymy (a form of movement unique to Waldorf education), Shakespearean monologues, and an array of offerings in choral and instrumental music.   Participants will have the opportunity to walk a labyrinth that was recently installed by students as part of a mindfulness and meditation workshop during EI (experiential and interdisciplinary) week in early January.

Waldorf School of the Peninsula was established in 1984 by a small group of parents and educators, who were motivated by the great need, in the highly technological area of Silicon Valley, for a school that would address the heart and will as well as the mind of the child. This whole-child approach, which allows young people to blossom as their physical, moral, emotional and cognitive capacities unfold, is the cornerstone of our philosophy, curriculum and environment. Waldorf education offers children of all ages the opportunity to thrive through a developmentally appropriate academic program integrated with the practical, fine and performing arts. Waldorf School of the Peninsula currently serves approximately 320 students in our nursery through high school programs.
