Seegrid New Product Line Featured in Pittsburgh Business Times

Jan. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- The Pittsburgh Business Times reporter, Patty Tascarella recently wrote Seegrid Corp., the Pittsburgh-based manufacturer of robotic industrial trucks, launched two new products. According to the article, the GT4 is a low-capacity tow tractor that automates the movement of flatbed carts and trains, while the GWSL3 is an automated walkie stacker that transports palletized goods. John Hayes, Seegrid’s vice president of sales and marketing, North America, said in a prepared statement both new products reduce labor and operating costs.

The GT4 tow tractor and GWSL3 walkie stacker are new additions to the flexible Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) product suite. The automated tow tractor and walkie stacker address the pain points and challenges manufacturing and distribution centers experience daily, including growing labor costs and employee and facility safety. The GT4 and GWSL3 reduce labor and operating costs while delivering a rapid return on investment.

The unmanned GT4 tugger is a compact low capacity tugger. The unmanned GWSL3 walkie stacker automates the horizontal transport of goods. Both new products use Seegrid’s patented vision-guided technology. The robotic industrial trucks are easy to program, input the route on the keypad, and the flexible AGV travels without wire, laser, tape, or magnet. The vision-guided technology allows existing infrastructure to map its guidance path.
