Crown Gas and Power Flexible Services and IT Platform Builds Gas Broker Market Share
Crown Gas and Power have launched new products for the commercial gas broking sector including packages with fixed and flexible cost options and a free software platform on which to manage business.

A free software and IT platform, the Crown Gas and Power Portal, enables the broker to see live market information together with all their transactions, customers, contracts and commission. This shows all client records, handling invoicing and provides a widow to view commission paid and due, with contract start and end dates clearly shown.
Traders can choose from a number of products developed with different market sectors in mind. For smaller businesses, with usage up to 100,000Kw per year, the ‘Pricing Matrix’ offers variable-term contracts in contrast to the standard bespoke package. The attraction for the small user is a lower standing charge.
‘You Fix’ gives the broker an end-user friendly package with service charges from the distribution company fixed for the duration of the contract. “Public service organisations are often attracted to this type of contract because the fixed cost fits their budget expectations,”
An alternative approach is known as ‘You Choose’. “This is a broker friendly product where the gas price can be locked-in at an interval after the contract is agreed with the client, avoiding seasonal and transient price spikes. Typically, a broker visiting a client would normally have to accept the prevailing spot price as they close deal. ‘You Choose’ gives the flexibility to settle at a rate that is closer to the general market rate up to a day or so after. Our account managers can help in pinpointing the best time to fix the price,” Terry concluded.
