Los Angeles dentist blazes new path for the dental industry, accepts 1st Bitcoin payment
Cutting edge dentist receives first payment using virtual currency
Because his business operates in a virtual world, so do the payments he receives from his customers, most of whom buy his games using Bitcoin, a digital, decentralized currency that has exploded in popularity as an inexpensive, easy-to-use form of online payment.
So when Amnon found out that his Calabasas dentist is now accepting Bitcoin as payment for services such as general and cosmetic dentistry, root canals, dental implants, sleep apnea, dental veneers and bad breath treatment, he didn’t think twice about using the digital currency.
“I think it’s awesome,” Amnon said. “I love it that my dentist is so technologically advanced that I can pay him with Bitcoin.”
Amnon, who came in for dental treatment, believes that Bitcoin’s popularity will continue to rise as more and more companies begin to embrace this new virtual payment solution like his dentist.
“That’s why I’m so excited,” he said. “My dentist is so progressive that now I can pay him from home at my convenience.”
And the best part, he says, is how simple it is to use.
“The experience was so easy,” he said. “I went to his website, clicked on the pay with Bitcoin button, punched the amount I owed and it was done.”
As a consumer and a business owner, Amnon said Bitcoin is the ideal form of payment.
“It’s an easy way to pay,” he said. “Transactions are immediate and you see it in your account right away.”
Because it is an unregulated currency and there is a limited amount of Bitcoins that can ever be mined, 21 million units to be exact, the value of Bitcoin fluctuates based on what people are willing to pay for it on any given day.
But that doesn’t bother Amnon because most of the time, he converts the Bitcoin payment right away into dollars, unless of course he sees the Bitcoin value going up in which case he holds off.
Either way, Amnon said Bitcoin is here to stay.
