Follow on Google News | Investment in Green Technology pays off at Monument Business Park in ChalgroveA multi occupied commercial building at Monument Business Park which has has been awarded an elusive A Rating Energy Performance Certificate.
By: Meeson Williams Phillips An Energy Performance Certificate is undertaken by accredited assessors and shows the energy efficiency of a building, with seven grades from A to G, with A being the most efficient. Monument Business Park in south Oxfordshire is home to around 80 businesses and has been owned and managed by Jennings since 1981. “We are delighted to receive the A rating on unit 37, which is ultimately a standard metal clad commercial unit on our park,” comments managing director Paul Mabbutt. “It is part of an ongoing project to make our buildings energy efficient, principally to generate cost savings for tenants on the Park. Our most adventurous project to date has been the Greenacres office and workshop scheme built entirely with Hemcrete (a mix of hemp waste and lime mortar)”. “With utility costs continuing to rise, energy efficiency is becoming increasingly important to businesses when considering new buildings,” comments David Williams from Meeson Williams Phillips.
