Suspected increase in cleaning prices next year? What to expect
London is crawling with cleaning companies that offer all sorts of services for busy citizens
One of the reason behind this increase in cleaning prices comes from the sudden surge of cleaning bookings all around the city. By increasing prices, cleaning companies are probably hoping to eliminate some of their weaker competitors, and make some more revenue while they are at it. When we asked Londoners about their opinion, we were greeted with mixed feelings:
About 30% of the population is happy with the increase; saying that they would gladly pay any sum of money, but only if the services provided increase in quality as well. The other 60% of the people say that prices are high enough as it is. Now the question is: will the companies go through with this substantial increase in cleaning costs, or are they just saying that to get more people to book their services before the holidays have ended?
Some experts speculate, that the rise in cleaning prices has more to do with government-mandated taxes, than with the companies themselves. New regulations about pollution and conserving energy, will surely add some expenses as far as the companies are concerned. And if international companies decide they want to sell their detergents at a heightened price as well, we are can be almost certain that this will affect the end price of every single cleaning procedure on the market.
It is actually quite understandable that companies want to tighten their grip on the city. During these last couple of years, more and more cleaning companies are struggling to make ends meet. Financial reports state that, on average, more than 20% of all cleaning companies end in bankruptcy after their first year. If this tendency keep up, experts say that the business will get completely monopolized. This could also play a factor in any future price increases, seeing as there wont be any competition to regulate the pricing system.
Officials at Quality Cleaning London Ltd. also informed us, that unless people start booking cleaning services more regularly, a second increase will be expected around the end of 2016. While this goes well with the current state of the economy, not many people realize that this will affect the job market as well. If sales continue to drop, a lot of people might be jobless next time next year. Although the expert at Quality Cleaning London Ltd. assured me, that there will be no such thing.
