Athol and Heywood Hospitals Receive CHART Grants

GARDNER, Mass. - Jan. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Both Athol and Heywood Hospital have just been awarded Community Hospital Acceleration Revitalization Transformation (CHART) Grants to support a variety of community health initiatives.

For Athol Hospital, the Health Policy Commission is recommending a total award cap for your hospital of $484,128. This investment will be used to pilot improvements to a school-based health center, improve behavioral health case management in an emergency department, facilitate electronic health record enhancement, and to conduct a telepsychiatry feasibility study.

For Heywood Hospital, the Policy Commission is recommending a total award cap for your hospital of $316,384. This investment is intended to expand behavioral health navigation services, to evaluate the feasibility of a school-based health center in Gardner, to connect a local medical group to the Mass HIway, and to conduct strategic planning related to evaluation of the expansion of behavioral health services in a cost-effective way.
