Healthcare Informatics and Business Analytics Online Grad Certificate Programs

BOSTON - Jan. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Big Data and the burgeoning field of Healthcare Informatics are the foundations for two new online graduate certificate programs being launched collaboratively by UMass Boston’s College of Advancing and Professional Studies (CAPS) and the College of Management. Enrollment is now open for classes starting February 3^th.

“By offering these two programs online, we hope to enable working professionals with busy schedules to have access to the advanced training they seek,” says Philip DiSalvio, dean of the College of Advancing and Professional Studies.

The Healthcare Informatics Certificate is designed to prepare professionals for successful careers in health care systems. This four course online certificate provides the concepts and tools that aid efficient and integrated healthcare management and delivery. “Explosive advances in IT combined with the current climate of healthcare reform has created the need for new skill sets,” says Noushin Ashrafi, professor of management information systems.

The Business Analytics Certificate program trains professionals to use big data to achieve a company’s strategic objectives. “This certificate program is ideally suited for those seeking further education to stay abreast of the latest developments in IT, applied to business analytics, marketing, and decision support,” says David Levy, associate dean for graduate programs and research at the College of Management.
