Evolutions Healthcare Systems Couples Corporate Wellness Initiative with Food Drive for Food Bank

TRINITY, Fla. - Jan. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- January 9, 2014 – Trinity, FL – Evolutions Healthcare Systems, Inc. (EHS) is pleased to announce the completion of a holiday food drive benefitting Metropolitan Ministries.

EHS donated over almost 300 pounds of food, collected through an innovative approach to corporate wellness.  9 team members, wishing to lose weight before the holidays, participated in weekly weigh-ins that required the contribution of non-perishable food items to participate.  The strategy was to contribute food in direct correlation with the amount of weight lost that week. In other words, in order to be the biggest “giver”, you had to be the biggest “loser”.

These donations will provide food to needy families in the Tampa Bay area and replenish the food pantry’s inventory after the November/December holiday season.

“Not only were we challenging ourselves to better health, but we are serving our community in the process,” said Constance Cranford, President of EHS. “With many families and individuals going to bed hungry each night, we are so fortunate to be having the problem of needing to lose weight.”

EHS encourages its employees to bring forward their favorite community and charity events and selects several worthy causes to promote and support through corporate team building activities throughout the year.
