Black History Month 2014 Benefits Fashion Show featuring "The Cross Over" Clothing Line

HOUSTON - Jan. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- Fashion designer Philetta K. Phillips will debut her 2014 African inspired clothing Line "The Cross Over" at the 1st annual Black History Month Benefits fashion show.  Hosted by EZCall EZTalk, the event will be held on February 23, 2014 at the Wyndham Hotel located at 14703 Park Rd Blvd, Houston TX 77079.  The fashion show will also feature ethnic and African couture bridal fashions by TeKay Designs. Music will be provided by a DJ and cultural dancers will entertain guests at the event. Doors open at 6:30 pm CT. Regular admission is $25 and Patron admission is $50.

A Liberian native and Houston resident, Mrs. Phillips has been sewing and designing since Elementary school. She is passionate about African attire and her clothing line is a blend of European and African fashions. "The Cross Over" designs range from elaborate evening gowns to fun casual wear. The fashion label, Fash Philetta Designs, by designer Philetta Phillips recently launched a new website (http://www.philettakphillips.com) that will allow global consumers to view the company's diverse designs and appreciate the beauty of African fashion.

According to Phillips, "I decided that 2014 is the year to formally launch my clothing line and showcase hand-made African inspired clothing to my customers and fashion enthusiasts in Houston and abroad.  The 2014 collection "The Cross Over" includes business suits, formal and evening attire, and casual wear. "The Cross Over" is inspired by my burning desire to produce fashions that can be worn to work and social occasions that strikes the right balance between African and American / European culture." For a taste of bridal couture, TeKay Designs: Queen Of The Brides will also showcase select bridal gowns representing Queens and women of power from various countries around the world.

Thirty percent of proceeds from the event will be distributed among three charities: The Liberian Association of Greater Houston, Ward Educational Fund and a renowned cancer organization in the US.  Gold, Silver, Bronze, Red and Individual sponsorships are available ranging from $200 to $50.  Sponsors and vendors can register at http://www.philettakphillips.com to participate in the event.
