The Largest State Pageant for Latinas Returns to Long Beach California
The weekend long festivities will include the annual purple carpet kick-off event on Friday, November 7th and preliminary competitions on Saturday, November 8th. The final show will be held on Sunday, November 9th, which will include the crowning of winners in both division, performers and special guests at the Center Theater of the Long Beach Performing Arts Center.
"Long Beach is home to many great landmarks and host to a series of great events. We are extremely happy to be returning to this beautiful city", said state director of Miss and Teen California Latina, Jennifer Rodriguez. "We are excited to be working once again with the Long Beach Convention Center and looking forward to making it home of the Miss and Teen California Latina state competitions."
Miss and Teen California Latina state competitions where held in Long Beach in 2010 at the Maya Beach Resort Hotel and in 2011 at the Long Beach Convention Center.
Young women of Latin heritage between the ages of 13-27, from all areas of California will partake in a series of events and competition over the November weekend. Areas of competition include personal interviews, evening gown, swimwear and fashion wear. Winners in each division will be awarded a series of prizes including, international travel to the national competition of Miss U.S. Latina, scholarship awards and a modeling contract.
The Miss California Latina™ and Miss Teen California Latina™ pageants are a celebration of beauty, style, acomplishments and cultural appreciation, emphasizing the opportunity for personal development while serving the community. Jennifer Rodriguez has been the director of the organization since 2008 and has grown the franchise into what is now the largest state pageant for women of Latin descent in the United States.
Miss California Latina™ is a preliminary competition to the national Miss U.S. Latina™ competition, the most prestigious and well-known pageant in the world for U.S. Latinas, as well as the longest running (since 1983).
