He joined the New York office of Fried, Frank, Harris, Schriver & Jacobson LLP as an associate attorney in the corporate department in 1996, and was elevated by that firm to partner in 2002. In 2004, Mr. Kwok left private practice for the legal department of the U.S. capital markets division of RBS. Mr. Kwok performed a variety of senior legal roles there, from heading legal coverage in the U.S. for structured credit to, more recently, Latin America, structured finance and non-core markets.
With almost 20 years of sophisticated financial products and corporate experience, Mr. Kwok is a very highly regarded expert on legal issues related to structured finance and securitized products (CLO’s, CMBS, RMBS, ABS and the like). He also is well known for his extensive legal work related to special out-of-court restructuring situations involving certain of RBS’s largest and most complex legacy exposures.
Mr. Kwok will be a partner in the Firm’s Downtown Los Angeles office, located at 601 South Figueroa Street, Suite 2380, Los Angeles, CA 90017. Mr. Kwok is a member of the New York bar.
