Follow on Google News | Cities join together to ban use of gas chambers and heart sticksEuthanasia by gas chamber and heart stick is inhumane and cruel
The idea is simple. People, united in their belief that these acts are inhumane, will gather in their local hometowns across the country at the same time. This is an effort to have events in hometowns across the country. If an animal supporter can get 50 or more people to attend, they are eligible to hold an event. All materials will be supplied and events will be listed on a website so others can attend and be educated on these cruel practices. Animal supporters have until Februray 1, 2014 to sign up to host an event in thier local hometown. “A tearful call from and animal rescuer in NC who sees the evil of gas chambers in her town prompted me to do something rather than just oppose it”, says Pia Colon Wurth of Pit Bull Press Release. “This is the first time for an event like this. We are joining together across the nation to show we will not stand quietly by but create a change.” A gas chamber can take 20 – 30 painful minutes to kill animals. Animals can be heard screaming and howling from inside the chamber. A heart stick is an injection of sodium pentobarbital that is thrust through the chest wall and several layers of muscle before puncturing the heart. Animals are often not sedated and experience a painful death. If gas chambers and heart sticks are used in your area or if your state no longer uses these types of euthanasia, please join together so no animal may suffer.
