Three Artists Commissions Announced For Transported Programme

Jan. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Transported, the Creative People and Places programme from Arts Council England for Boston Borough and South Holland, Lincolnshire, are inviting commissions from artists for three new strands of activity

Transported is a strategic, community-focussed programme which aims to get more people in South Holland and Boston Borough enjoying the arts and participating in arts activities.  After a successful launch in May 2013 and an initial three month artist-led consultation phase, eleven distinct strands of activity were identified to be part of Phase II of the project which will run until September 2014. We will be commissioning artists to ensure each strand bring quality and original arts experiences that are accessible and relevant to communities in South Holland and Boston Borough and empower them to continue into the future.  For more details on all of the strands, visit http://www.transportedart.com/moving-on-to-phase-ii/.

We are now inviting applications from exciting and innovative, individual artists and companies of quality for the following strands:

·         Open Book – arts experiences taking place in libraries as new venues for arts activities

·         Live and Local – live site specific performances in non-conventional settings

·         Creative Consultation – innovative artistic experiences exploring new methods of engagement in specific locations not visited during the initial consultation phase

Our approach is to harness the creative thinking of artists to navigate the barriers that have traditionally stopped people engaging with the arts.

Open Day

Transported are holding an Open Day for interested applicants to attend on Thursday 6 February 2014 at the following locations:

Spalding Library, Victoria Street, Spalding, Lincolnshire PE11 1EA from 10am to 11.30am

The Swan, High Street, Moulton, Lincolnshire PE12 6QB from 12pm to 2pm

The Wheatsheaf, Market Place, Swineshead, Boston, Lincolnshire PE20 3LJ from 3pm to 5pm
