Jack Daniel’s 50 Barrel Christmas Tree Appears on Snowy King West
A Christmas tree appeared recently on KIng Street West in front of the Hive Strategic agency as Jack Daniels’ contribution to the 2013 Christmas spirit. The decorative structure was Gary Erickson Architect’s first built project in Toronto.
Behind all the barrels, the hidden structure for the tree was designed by Ernie Leung, owner of JIT engineering. Ernie’s tree structure had a central pole and tube steel branches, attached to a heavy wood platform base, similar to a real tree structure. High above the street, the glowing star is mounted on top of the central support pole.
The client Hive Strategic worked with the specialist contractor Carvel Burrel of Burrel Inc. to finish the final decoration of the festive tree.
The opening party hosted by Hive Strategic for Jack Daniels had a free sampling of new brands of bourbon from the distiller. Photos and opening video at http://ericksong.com/
Open Dec 11 2013 to New Years 2014, 544 King Street West, Toronto.
