Nexus Insurance Services Urges Physicians Sued For Malpractice to Join Support Groups

LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. - Dec. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Physicians working in the healthcare industry face many demands and stresses in the course of their work. It can be especially straining when faced with a pending malpractice lawsuit.  The New Hampshire Medical Society has started an initiative that will help physicians experiencing emotional difficulties due to a medical malpractice lawsuit.

Health care professionals who are sued for malpractice are often told not to talk with friends or family about the case because records of those conversations could be used in court as evidence. Instead, they can speak with licensed therapists or psychologists.

The New Hampshire Medical Society’s support group will begin meeting in February 2014.

There are also organizations like the Physician Litigation Stress Resource Center (www.physicianlitigationstress.org/) that offers a variety of articles, books, and sources to support physicians facing a lawsuit.

“A medical malpractice lawsuit can take its toll on the psyche of a physician.
