Be a movie star in your personal Holiday Greetings card

They star in a hilarious film that leads them through the snowy city centre.Tourists visiting Amsterdam during the holiday season can send home this unique movie postcard or share it on social media.

What is the Postcard Experience?
The Postcard Experience is a new tourist attraction in the centre of Amsterdam. It offers tourists, expats, international students, au pairs and interns the chance to act in an animated film showing the most popular tourist places in a fantastic way. Each film ends like a traditional postcard with “greetings from Amsterdam” or “greetings from Holland” written in a language of choice.

Why the Postcard Experience?
Initiator Marnix Foeken speaks about these unique Christmas cards: ‘Last week the Dutch postal company announced that they will deliver 15 million Christmas cards less than last year. Actually it’s quite logical when entertaining alternatives like Postcard Experience exist. People are searching for new ways in this age of sharing and liking. We offer a combination of a fun offline experience and a funny online product which they immediately can post on Facebook or Youtube.”

How does the Postcard Experience work?

Tourists select a film theme and then sit in front of a big green screen. A director gives instructions about how and when to move and respond. Specially designed software places the recording in the animated film. The tourist then receives a link to a digital file that they can start posting and sharing on social media.

What does the Postcard Experience cost?

A regular personalised and animated postcard film costs €15,-. The special Christmas card version is on offer for €10,-. We also sell USB flash drives in the form of Dutch windmills, which include an HD version of the film.

Where is the Postcard Experience located?
