Art Nouveau sterling silver cake plate. Made by Tiffany in New York, ca. 1901. Unusual fan-form bouquet, with each stem topped by a lush blossom. Unusual contrast between the stylized foliage and realistic flowers. Form suggestive of peacock’s tail, another motif in fashion at the turn of the century. Heart-form cartouche is blank for engraving. Rests on 4 scrolled-ball supports. The pattern (no. 14665) was first produced in 1901.

Excellent condition with nice patina.

A very heavy 36.5 troy ounces.

This piece will not last as Tiffany is the possibly the most sought after name in antique silver.
