MOBILE, Ala. - Dec. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Southeast Toyota Finance associates recently volunteered at Ransom Café’s Thanksgiving Day Community Meals event at Christ United Methodist Church, preparing food and performing light cleaning. Ransom Café is a nonprofit dedicated to meeting the needs of those who face hunger, educating individuals on food preparation and service, helping with job readiness skills, and providing other resource assistance.

“Giving back to our community is an integral part of who we are as a company,” said Michael Hollis, Vice President of Service Center Operations for Southeast Toyota Finance. “Our associates are committed to helping those in need, especially during the holiday season.”

Since forming a relationship with Ransom Café in 2011, Southeast Toyota Finance and its associates have contributed $5,000 and volunteered nearly 170 hours. Associates continued supporting the organization’s mission through the holidays by donating their time at the Candy Cane Christmas breakfast on December 14.

In the company’s second year participating at the annual event, Southeast Toyota Finance associates made 105 pounds of cornbread dressing, 25 pounds of cranberry sauce and sorted 75 pounds of sugar that was distributed among six of Ransom Café’s serving sites in the area. Volunteers also arranged and decorated tables for guests of the Thanksgiving dinner at the church.

Ransom Café is a division of Ransom Ministries, Inc. that combats physical and spiritual hunger by using quality fresh ingredients in a variety of foods served daily. With multiple locations throughout Mobile and Baldwin counties, the nonprofit also offers cooking classes for all ages, organizes home improvement projects and has mentoring programs for those seeking a career in the hospitality industry.
