By: Little Green Men Worth, commemorates their 20th anniversary on Saturday, December 28 at The Rail Club (3101 Joyce Dr.). The band will play more than two hours, featuring songs spanning their four-album catalog, as well as never-before- Few artists in history can lay claim to such longevity. Led Zeppelin lasted 12 years. Guns N’ Roses, a mere eight. The Beatles were together only six. This rarified air makes such an achievement even more special for the critically acclaimed quartet. “The significance of this achievement is not lost on us,” notes guitarist/vocalist Andrew Williams. “To be in the company of such acts as Metallica, Iron Maiden and Aerosmith is humbling, to say the least.” Williams founded LGM in 1993, while earning his music education degree at TCU. His initial intent was a tribute to his favorite artist, Canadian power trio Rush. The group quickly gained popularity across the metroplex, as their musical skill in mimicking Rush, Van Halen and virtually anyone else was apparent. Williams’ acumen as a burgeoning songwriter and lyricist won the day, however, and it wasn’t long before he was creating his own music. After two albums and nearly a decade of establishing the marque, Williams decided LGM was a bigger entity than he had once envisioned. In 2002, he recruited renowned bassist/vocalist Motown J. Robert and dynamic drummer Ryan Young to expand the group’s sound and repertoire. Then in January 2004, he added the final puzzle piece, vocalist/songwriter Kevin White. Ironically, White and Williams first became friends back at TCU. “We even jammed a little ‘Hotel California’ at one of the very first LGM gigs,” laughs White. “It took a few years before the stars aligned and we were finally able to work together,” he notes, “but we’ve never looked back. Our chemistry is undeniable on stage and in the studio. It’s easily the best musical situation any of us have experienced.” LGM is currently in the studio with their fifth release, due in the spring. Meanwhile, the celebration is on for their families, friends and fans. “Without our amazing support group,” says White, “none of this is possible. We’re throwing this party for them.” Doors open at 7pm, with special guests, No Hard Feelings, beginning at 9pm. LGM hits the stage at 10:30pm. There will be giveaways, a raffle for a signed LGM green guitar, new t- shirts and plenty of party favors. All ages (under 18 must be accompanied by parent). End
