Laurel, MD Dentist Office is Toys for Tots Drop-Off Location

LAUREL, Md. - Dec. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- LAUREL, MD – Dr. Garland K. Davis, owner and dentist at Garland K. Davis DDS in Laurel, MD has taken his community involvement a step further this season. In addition to collecting non-perishable food items from staff and patients during the months of October, November and December to donate to the Elizabeth House in Laurel, the dental practice is also an official Toys for Tots drop-off location this holiday season.

Long known for its humanitarian purpose to provide holiday gifts for underprivileged youth, an equally important goal for USMC’s Toys for Tots is to provide books as part of its literacy program. Oftentimes, the books received will be the only books in that home. Dr. Davis stated, “I support the Toys for Tots program and hope that my patients and anyone else in the area that can drop by with a new, unwrapped toy or book. We will be collecting donations at our dentist office through Friday, December 20.” Those interested in donating can call the office or visit the practice’s website http://www.garlanddavisdds.com for hours and directions.

Dr. Davis continued, “Don’t forget, we’re still collecting for the Elizabeth House as well, so if you do not have the opportunity to buy a new toy, we’ll be more than happy to pass along your food donations!”

Dr. Garland Davis is a 1982 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and is a native Baltimorean. After working in Laurel, MD as an associate for a large dental practice he decided to stay and open his own practice in Laurel in 1992. From 1992 to the present, Dr. Davis has been at the same location on Cherry Lane. During this time, Dr. Davis’ practice has flourished from a two chair operation to a recently renovated eight chair facility with all modern and up-to-date dental equipment.
