I am delighted to provide you with a little background on our daughter (Jessica Livianu) and her family; Jessica Livianu won the prestigious Ojai Valley Junior Tournament (2B) 113th, Girls 16s, Singles.  Jessica was not a seeded player and beat the #1 seed, Seira Shimichi, in the semi-finals, 6-4, 7-6 (3), and Ryan Peus, the #7 seed in the final, 6-3, 6-3.

Jessica Livianu started playing tennis at 3 years old, chasing balls on the public tennis courts of Brooklyn, NY, while her mother, Bulgarian-born Bogdana (Bogie) Romanska), was teaching high performance tennis to junior players, including Gail Brodsky (twice winner of the Ojai tournament) .  Her mother, Bogie, is also Jessica’s full time tennis coach, since she was 5 years old.

Jessica Livianu, just turned 15 in February, and comes from tennis and music royalty; her mother Bogie is a former WTA player, ranked as high as 189 in the world in the late 1980s. Her grandparents, Vladimir and Elena Romansky were both Bulgarian National Tennis champions.

Her father, David Livianu, is a Romanian-born Juilliard Graduate, the son of a famous Romanian-Jewish crooner in the 1930s, Dorel Livianu.

Jessica Livianu finished #1 in both the 12s and 14s USTA Eastern, NY State, and as high as #7 in National 12s and #13 in National 14s in the USA.

Jessica  Livianu has worked for the past 4 months with elite Bulgarian coach Ognian Katzarov, at the Weill Academy in Ojai, though her mother, Bogie Bogdana Romansky Livianu, is the primary coach.

Jessica Livianu wants to turn pro but also get a solid education at Harvard; she understands that the road to success is paved with serious challenges, but is determined to work hard and smart with her number 1 supporter, her mother-coach Bogie.  Jessica has a lot of support from her #1 fan, her brother Jacob 12, who plays junior tennis and is an avid skateboarder.
