ROCKFORD, Ill. - Dec. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Just in time for Christmas, Clark Colborn is releasing a new digital single of the classic holiday song “Carol of the Bells.” The song was a free gift to Colborn’s fans via his newsletter, but starting Thursday December 19th, it will be available for purchase at his website clarkplaysguitar.com.

In other news, Colborn recently contributed a song to a new charity album. The disc, entitled “Will Sing for Food: A Charity Album to Benefit the Rock River.” Featuring fifteen songs from Rockford, Illinois area artists, Colborn contributed “Mr. In a Hurry Part 2.”

Colborn has previously released two albums (one under the name “Clark Plays Guitar”) to great reviews. He’s got both a new EP and a new album in progress at the moment. He’s also released several other digital singles, including a cover of The Who’s “Baba O’Riley.” one of Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” and one of “Eleanor Rigby” by The Beatles.

One reviewer (Jason Hillenburg) said of “Baba O’Riley,” “Overall, this is an outstanding stab at remodeling a classic for a modern audience. It takes genuine bravery to cover a song like this, but Colborn succeeds.” Of “Superstition,” Larry Toering said, ““A classic Stevie Wonder tune gets the full-on transformation into a different realm here as far as I'm concerned. I can't see how anyone would listen to this just once, it's that good.” Of The Beatles cover, Toering said, “Colborn is one of the most lyrical guitarists in the business, and he sings on the strings every second of the way. I've always loved this track as it is, even the Rare Earth version holds a place with me, but this brings it into the now and puts a hook like no other on it.”
