NAWBO of South Jersey Announces Contest: "Feed Your Hunger"

VOORHEES, N.J. - Dec. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) of South Jersey is excited to announce a contest they are launching today titled Feed Your Hunger.  Recently, NAWBO of South Jersey revealed their keynote speaker for the 2014 Beyond the Glass Ceiling Awards Gala, Dr. Robin Smith, national television personality, best-selling author, and licensed psychologist.  Dr. Robin Smith will center her keynote address at the gala around her most recent book, Hungry: The Truth About Being Full, in which she candidly chronicles her own experiences with being emotionally and spiritually hungry in order to provide insight into the reader’s own hunger.  To honor the courage Dr. Robin Smith displays in her willingness to stand in her own truth and lay it all on the line in order to help empower her readers, NAWBO of South Jersey is challenging the women in their region to do the same.

To kick-off the Feed Your Hunger contest, NAWBO of South Jersey released a short video today to help people better understand what it’s all about.  If you wish to enter, simply submit a two-minute video in which you answer the question, “What are you hungry for?” via email to cheffran@flavorfulfork.com.  The submission video can be recorded with a phone or built-in computer camera, it need not be fancy or look professionally done.  The submissions will be evaluated solely on the entrants’ answer to the question, "What are you hungry for?"   The deadline to enter the Feed Your Hunger contest is 1/15/2014.  The contest is open to all women who live in the South Jersey region.  The NAWBO SJ board will determine the top three submissions and post them to their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/nawbosj, on February 1, 2014, at which time voting will begin.  Voting will end at 11:59 PM on February 15^th, 2014.  There will be 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place prizes awarded to the winners of the Feed Your Hunger contest.  Visit www.nawbosouthjersey.org to view the kick-off video and to learn what you can win!

About Dr. Robin Smith

Dr. Robin L. Dr. Smith earned her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Temple University, her master’s degree from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and obtained her undergraduate degree from LaSalle University.  In May of 2007 Dr. Smith received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Palmer Theological Seminary.  In addition, Dr. Smith trained in a 2 year clinical program earning a certificate in Contextual Family Therapy. She was affiliated with Psychological Services at Swarthmore College, a former member of the Board of Directors of Albert Einstein Medical Center, Belmont Hospital, and Eagleville Hospital, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility.  She also served on the Advisory Board of the Barristers' Association of Philadelphia.

About the 2014 Beyond the Glass Ceiling Awards Gala

The 2014 Beyond the Glass Ceiling Awards Gala, hosted by NAWBO of South Jersey, is a dinner program that honors extraordinary individuals for their contributions to women and women business owners. It will be held at The Mansion in Voorhees, NJ.  In recent years, the event has drawn around 300 attendees, mostly business women and men from the South Jersey region who come to honor the nominees, network, enjoy a great night out, and be inspired by the keynote’s address.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to One Year of NAWBO, a grant that offers a one-year, all-expenses paid membership to NAWBO to a woman who has recently lost significant financial support due to the death, disability, divorce, or separation of a spouse.  The rest of the proceeds will be set aside for NAWBO of South Jersey’s educational events, lectures, grants, and seminars, which are open to members and non-members alike.  NAWBO of South Jersey is a not-for-profit organization.  To learn more and purchase tickets, visit www.nawbosouthjersey.org.
