Follow on Google News | The World's First Dropbox Powered NewsroomFor the first time, companies can leverage Dropbox to publish newsroom content onto their websites
By: GetPalmTree.com Bakz points out that much of the online publishing industries (like blog platforms) have already begun to migrate over to Dropbox technology. Using Dropbox, users do not need to log on to a website panel or even open their browsers. Instead, authors can publish content from their desktop/laptop computers directly, using their favourite editor like Microsoft Word. “This eliminates a lot of the friction that is normally associated with publishing new content on the web” says the web developer. With his new app called Palm Tree, Awan hopes to leverage Dropbox technology by introducing it to the newsroom for the first time. Companies can connect their Dropbox account with Palm Tree, integrate the Palm Tree newsroom seamlessly onto their current website, and begin publishing their press releases directly from Dropbox. With an immediate response from early testers as well as customers he interviewed, Awan is convinced this is the breakthrough newsroom technology companies and startups have been looking for. “It’s a far more elegant solution,” he says, because it “lets you quickly push out the latest press releases and content so you can get the attention that your company deserves and focus on other key areas of your business”. At the moment, PalmTree is in the final stages of its development and has begun providing early access to companies and startups.
