Follow on Google News | Tortola Sailing School now offers ASA coursesBVI school now accredited as an ASA training centre to complement its existing line of IYT courses
Tortola Sailing School, based in the most picturesque marina Soper’s Hole in the British Virgin Islands, is pleased to announce that they are now an accredited American Sailing Association (ASA) Sailing School. Following a rigorous evaluation of the curriculum, sailing boats, instructors and facilities in Soper’s Hole, the American Sailing Association has appointed Tortola Sailing School as an affiliate school. The ASA Learn to Sail program will run here for students that want to follow the ASA courses in tropical weather and azure blue seas, with the same high standards of safety and quality of training as in the USA. The ASA courses will run alongside the IYT program that Tortola Sailing School is also accredited to teach. Driven by a clear need for uniform sailing instruction and education standards with increased access to sailing activities, the American Sailing Association has grown to include a (inter) national network of professionally accredited sailing schools. Tortola Sailing School can accommodate students that have never set foot on a boat before, right up to qualifying skippers for coastal cruising within the ASA scheme. The Basic Keelboat Sailing (ASA 101) course is conducted on a beautiful Cape Dory Typhoon, a great little classic sailing boat that will make anybody fall in love with sailing in the Caribbean. Basic courses start at just $495. The ASA knows that their students choose ASA sailing schools because they want to follow a proven curriculum in a professional, supportive learning environment under the direction of certified sailing instructors. This is what the ASA assures when you choose an ASA affiliated school; the same quality sailing education everywhere in the world. Tortola Sailing School prides itself on the staff’s personal approach to students, friendly ASA and IYT certified instructors and the high standard of training. As Captain David Renoll, ASA instructor- and facility evaluator, kindly said; “You have a great team and your school should do very well. I appreciate all your efforts in making my job so easy!”. Tortola Sailing School will be offering practical training along with theory classes, possible everyday of the week.
