Unique Venues Announces St Jude Childrens Research Hospital As New Corporate Giving Partner For 2014

EDWARDS, Colo. - Dec. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- COLORADO (December 11, 2013) –  Unique Venues (http://www.uniquevenues.com), a marketing and membership organization that connects one-of-a-kind event venues with meeting planners, believes in the mission of giving back to community that has been so good to them, which is why the company has committed to donating to nonprofits every year with sizeable contributions.

In 2013, Unique Venues revamped its annual giving program to allow one employee to name their charity of choice in order to make a greater impact. For the past year, volunteer mission Children’s Global Alliance was the benefactor; in 2014, St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital will take its place.

Founded in 1962 by the late entertainer Danny Thomas, the institute is a place of solace, treatments and medical breakthroughs located in Memphis, Tennessee for families of children facing cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Each year, the hospital treats nearly 7,800 patients, resolute in the fact that no family has to pay for their services. With daily operating costs of $1.8 million, however, public donations are imperative to keep the organization alive.

“St. Jude’s uses nearly every penny of donated dollars to go directly for the kids. They are good at what they do and make sure to provide the best medical treatment and care for patients and their families,” says Unique Venues President Chuck Salem, who had the opportunity to choose the organization. As the father of three children and a cancer survivor himself, Salem knows how difficult the experience is emotionally and physically. “When I think of a small child having to face one of the greatest challenges there is, it warms me to know there is a place that they can go to that can help them heal.”

Contributions begin in January with a $500 donation in lieu of sending holiday cards to Unique Venues members. Unique Venues also gives $5 to the organization for every new member and renewal they secure in the calendar year.
