Teen Video National Challenge Seeks N.C. Submissions on Libraries and Reading

RALEIGH, N.C. - Dec. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- RALEIGH, N.C. -- Teens in North Carolina, and across America, are asked to showcase their interpretations on the 2014 Summer Reading teen slogan Spark a Reaction during the 2014 Teen Video Challenge. Their original 30 to 90 second videos will be among those entered in to the competition sponsored by the State Library of North Carolina and the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP). CSLP includes public libraries and state library agencies in the United States, its territories and the Cayman Islands.

CSLP members work together to provide high quality summer reading materials for public libraries to use in summer programs for children, teens and adults. Teens can now be involved in the process before, during and after summer months by being part of the process. The adolescents can also showcase their talent and creativity on the subjects of libraries and reading before a national audience.

Each state organizes and implements the 2014 Teen Video Challenge with submissions organized and accepted through public libraries. The winning video in each state will be named one of the CSLP 2014 Teen Videos to promote summer reading nationwide. The winning state video will receive $275 and the associated library will receive $125 from CSLP and Demco/Upstart. Winners will be announced in spring 2014.
