American Paper & Twine Teacher of the Week – Week Fifteen

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Dec. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- American Paper & Twine Co., Titans Radio and Georgia-Pacific Communications Paper congratulates science teacher DeeDee Montgomery from Summit High School in Spring Hill, TN for being selected as the Teacher of the Week for week Fifteen of the Titans 2013 football season.

“During the Tennessee Titans regular season, we work hard, along with our partners at Titans Radio and Georgia Pacific, to select a deserving teacher from a large group of extremely dedicated teachers” said Ruth Elliott, American Paper & Twine eMerchandising Manager. “With so many incredible entries, this can be a tough decision, but we feel this week’s winner is a great role model for her students.”

Ms. Montgomery was nominated by Summit High School parent, Gina Fancher. “Ms. Montgomery teaches everything from general science to Human Anatomy and does it with passion,” said Mrs. Fancher. “As a teacher you are always looking for ways to encourage and captivate your students. Ms. Montgomery does that daily! From using personal stories, allowing her students to relate and tell their own stories, to labs and projects that allow our students to think outside their norm. The students respect her thoughts, her teaching style and are vested in her as a teacher and a parent. Ms. Montgomery is expecting her 3rd child and the students are just as excited as she is about the new arrival. Being a teacher is being a role model and mentor and she is definitely both!”

Each week during the Titans’ season, submissions are reviewed to find exceptional teachers. The winning teachers receive a $400 gift basket full of supplies for their classroom, and a new winner is announced every Tennessee Titans game. At the end of the season a ‘Teacher of the Year’ is selected from the Teacher of the Week winners. This deserving teacher will receive an award, a gift basket of school supplies (worth approximately $800) and tickets to the December 29th game vs. the Houston Texans.
