J&J Staffing Cautions 2014 Employment Landscape Still Recovering; Encourages Optimistic Outlook

J&J Staffing optimistic for 2014 employment landscape following the healthcare reform, government shutdown and continued unpredictable economic conditions that plagued 2013.

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - Dec. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- CHERRY HILL, NEW JERSEY – J&J Staffing, a premier staffing resources firm with more than 40 years of leadership in the Delaware Valley, reports ‘cautious optimism’ regarding the upcoming 2014 employment landscape – following the healthcare reform, government shutdown and continued unpredictable economic conditions that plagued 2013.

“The staffing industry, like all industries, remains cautious in its forecast for 2014,” reports Sean Malady, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, at the longtime South Jersey staffing powerhouse. “2013 delivered a few predictable challenges for job seekers, as well as several weighty surprises for employers – not to mention the unpredictable economic climate companies still causing major businesses to restrain from robust staffing measures.”

What trends continue to dominate the staffing industry? According to Malady, many companies remain reluctant to support robust workforces, opting to hold off on hiring due to concerns regarding healthcare expenses and economic uncertainty. Many business owners and hiring executives are completely removed from staffing and hiring activities once commonplace within their organizations – creating staffing struggles within their operations as employees are stretched many times beyond their bandwidth.

“There is no doubt employers continue to be cautious when it comes to staffing,” Malady reports. “This results in a burgeoning pool of, in many cases, elite executive candidates consistently pursuing employment, regardless of seasonal trends.”

For example, the holidays were commonly a time for a slowing of job seekers, according to Malady. As November emerged, typically job seekers would slow in pursuing employment – hopeful the impending New Year would deliver a hiring upsurge launching in January. Once predictable, this trend is no longer the case, Malady asserts.

According to Kiplinger, as job creation starts to pick up in 2014, the unemployment rate is likely to stabilize - bouncing around in the range of 6.9 percent to 7.2 percent as people are encouraged to come back into the labor market, looking for a job. It won’t begin to make real downward strides again until job growth becomes more vigorous - mid-2014 at the earliest.

“Today, there is not the drop in job seekers we once saw in the staffing industry during the holiday season,” Malady reports. “While there is a slight pause in job seekers, overall the energy, enthusiasm and aggressiveness demonstrated by job seekers during the holiday season is fiercely zealous – people want to work and they don’t want to take a holiday break from the pursuit of employment.”

Working directly with major corporations, J&J Staffing works tirelessly to ensure all qualified job seekers are given every opportunity for employment, regardless of the time of year. “We are extremely sensitive to the needs, requirements and hopes of our job seekers,” Malady shares. “Whether it’s Thanksgiving week or Christmas Eve, if we find an opportunity for someone who is working with us to secure a professional opportunity, we explore every avenue possible to deliver a successful outcome.”
