Pilgrim Country House Hotel Launches Cookery Classes

The Pilgrim Country House Hotel in the Wye Valley near Hereford is introducing cookery lessons in the New Year. There will be a choice of Indian food lessons or baking lessons, with the hotel's two, highly talented, award-winning chefs.

HEREFORD, U.K. - Dec. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- The Pilgrim Country House Hotel in the Wye Valley between Ross-on-Wye and Hereford, has announced a series of cookery classes for 2014, with its award-winning chefs Deepak Kumar – who is a member of the British Culinary Federation – and Brent Castle, who trained under Rick Stein, and who is a winner of a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

Deepak will be returning to his roots and will be teaching his students how to cook restaurant-quality Indian food as was taught to him by his mother.

Michelin-trained Brent will be running his own ‘Great British Bake Off’ and sharing his skills and techniques for every level of baker from novices to the more experienced who are looking to get to the next level.

Comments Steve Boyle, ex British Lions and England rugby international and owner of the Pilgrim Country House Hotel: “We have been extremely fortunate to find two such talented chefs as Deepak and Brent who are wowing our guests every day with their culinary skills.

“Many people have asked us if we offer cookery classes and when I suggested it to Deepak and Brent they came up with the idea of separate Indian food and baking lessons.  Anyone who takes part is certain to have a lot of fun and will leave with enhanced cookery skills to show off to friends and family.”

Each class – which will take place from 2.30pm-5pm in the hotel kitchen – will be limited to just four students to ensure that Deepak and Brent can maximise the time spent helping each person.

The courses would make an idea Christmas or Birthday gift or, why not treat yourself?

Baking with Brent (pastry, bread, cakes & desserts) will take place on 6, 13, 20 and 27th of January.

Deepak's Indian Style (meat, vegetarian, biryanis & more) will take place on 8, 15, 22 and 29 January.

All classes cost £29.50 per person (anyone buying two will get a third free) and cookery students who wish to make a short break of the occasion and stay at the hotel to explore the local area can do so at the preferential rate of £39 per night for single occupancy, or £59 for 2 sharing (B&B).
