The Little Rose, Written by Children’s Author Sheri Fink, Debuts On Stage at the Vanguard Theater

MARTIN, Tenn. - Dec. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Sheri Fink, author of the award-winning and best-selling children’s books which include The Little Rose, The Little Gnome, The Little Firefly, Exploring the Garden with the Little Rose, and The Little Seahorse (debuting in March 2014), witnessed the first production of the play adaptation of her first children’s book this past week at the newly reinvented Vanguard Theater at the University of Tennessee in Martin.

The Little Rose has plans to be performed on-stage again in January 2014.

The play, directed by Melanie Hollins, and written by Sheri Fink and Leon Scioscia, included crew and actors from the University of Tennessee, as well as the local Martin community.

LEON SCIOSCIA

Leon Scioscia has written over 14 plays, several short stories, and poetry – with his favorite being – The Man with a Mouth Full of Jelly Beans. Leon is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin (where one of his full length plays - Waiting for the Sun was a Winter Production) and the University of Iowa. He has work on and off-Broadway, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and with over 40 cultural organizations across the country. Leon’s first book for young readers is entitled The Snow Fort. He lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with his son, Alex.
