GoodWorks International: An Icon we Honor

Dec. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- He was a reconciliator, one who understood the importance of restoring harmony and settling differences as “South Africa belonged to all the people who lived in it, and not to one group, be it black or white”. Ambassador Carlton Masters, GoodWorks International’s Chairman recalls a profound moment when Nelson Mandela shared his gratitude to the Black Diaspora in the US and Canada who fought for his freedom while he was in jail.

With the tradition of being led by civil rights leaders, GoodWorks International understands the sacrifice and engagement of taking stance for justice.

Ambassador Masters recalls having the honor meeting Madiba during his North American tour after his release from prison in 1990. Ambassador Masters recalls his endearing friendship as he accompanied Nelson Mandela throughout his journey in Canada introducing him to financial and business communities, and the civil society. This was the beginning of a deep-rooted friendship celebrating Mandela’s life and other special occasions.

As the world mourns a moral compass, GoodWorks International mourns the loss of a friend. We extend our condolences to the family and to the South African nation.
