DENVER - Dec. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- The Denver Active 20-30 Children’s Foundation (http://da2030.com/) (Denver Active 20-30) is bringing holiday cheer to underprivileged Denver area children with its annual Christmas for Kids (http://www.xmas4kids.com/) event. On Saturday, Dec. 7 160 underprivileged Denver area children will go on a holiday shopping spree at a local Target department store with funds raised by the local non-profit.

In its 23rd year, each child participating in Christmas for Kids will receive $50 from Denver Active 20-30 to spend spreading holiday cheer and purchasing gifts for members of their families, which many wouldn’t otherwise be able to do. The children, ranging in age from six to 13, will each be escorted by a Denver Active 20-30 member during their shopping spree.

“As these children plow through the store, they listen, learn to budget, and develop a shopping list which focuses on other people,” said Abraham J. Laydon, Denver Active 20-30 member and the Christmas for Kids chairman. “Then, after a wild time at the gift wrap tables we’ve set up for them, they’ll leave with brightly colored wrapped packages stuffed in shopping bags for their families. We feel so fortunate to be able to provide this unique opportunity to these much deserving children.”

Funds for Christmas for Kids are raised with the Winter Fête, Denver’s premier annual winter party, presented by Denver Active 20-30 and EDGE Restaurant and Bar (http://www.edgerestaurantdenver.com/). The event is being held on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 7:30 p.m. to midnight at the Four Seasons Hotel Denver (http://www.fourseasons.com/Denver%E2%80%8E). The party will feature complimentary adult beverages, butler passed appetizers and fine chocolates, Denver’s best DJs, and surprises throughout the night. The Winter Fête is a VIP party only, tickets can be purchased for $100 at http://www.xmas4kids.com/kickoff-party. Sponsors include Grey Goose, Bacardi, Bombay Sapphire, Dewar's, Corzo Tequila, Jack Daniel's, Canyon Road Winery and Odell Brewing.

The 2013 Christmas for Kids fundraiser is an event sponsored and coordinated through the Denver Active 20-30, a non-profit organization comprised of business leaders between the ages of 20 and 39 that are focused on raising money for disadvantaged Denver area children. Though most funds raised through the events that the Denver Active 20-30 sponsors go directly to local charity organizations, the Christmas for Kids event is one in which the children are the direct benefactors of the money raised.
