Dec. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Planning a winter getaway does not mean leaving the state, spend some quality down time experiencing something new down the shore. With showcase events to highlight winter break, Valentines and President’s Weekends, the Long Beach Island Region located at the heart of the jersey shore is good place to start.

Get romantic in Loveladies at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences and experience the luxury of a true Valentine’s Ball held in the area’s premiere art gallery.  Music, cocktails, fine food and delicious desserts will make February 15 a one of a kind night at on Long Beach Island.  For reservations contact LBI Foundation at 609 494 1241. Discounted winter rates and shopping specials make the rest of the weekend even sweeter. Explore the many realtor open houses, upcoming season schedules at Surflight Theatre and Ocean Professional Theatre, learn about surfing, fishing and boating options and get start planning for the spring and summer. Take advantage of time together by entering the Cocoa Cup Open at the Tuckerton Seaport running February 14-17. Putt your way to victory in their winter mini golf tournament with hot chocolate and chocolate treats. In between rounds, be hands on with learning about life on the bay, pirates, surfing and the Tucker’s Island Lighthouse. If Victorian Etiquette is your cup of tea, February 16 at the Captains House located on the Seaport grounds 120 W Main Street in Tuckerton will feature a catered Victorian High Tea.
