Cerritos College Cosmetology and Dermalogica Offer Advanced Training to Students

On December 4, 2013, Cerritos College Cosmetology and Dermalogica offered advanced training to the Cosmetology department Esthetician students. The training was on Advanced Chemical Peel.
 
NORWALK, Calif. - Dec. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- The Advanced Chemical Peel class was an overview on a new Dermalogica technique: the Bio Active Peel. The class was taught by Hannah Vaughn, Senior Instructor for Dermalogica. The class included; FaceMapping Skin Analysis, Protocol for the treatment, importance of skin, what is going to happen to the skin with the treatment, and the results from the treatment.

“Once a month, I schedule visits with the Esthetician students to help them in their progression. These trainings take them to the next level of product knowledge, ingredient technology, resume building, interview techniques, skin analysis, and how to preform treatments,” said Dermalogica Senior Instructor, Hannah Vaughn. “Dermalogica just launched this Advanced Chemical Peel and it is only for professional skin therapists that work in a service-centric locations. This training is a special treat to these students for their dedication and knowledge.”

The Cerritos College Cosmetology Program’s mission is to prepare students for a career. Cerritos College offers Cosmetology and Esthetician programs.  The Cosmetology program provides students with the skills to cut, color, perm, straighten, and braid hair, manicure, pedicure, and skin care as well as other applications and techniques. Students in the Esthetician program learn how to analyze skin, perform facials, massages, extractions, make-up, and how to treat skin.

The Cerritos College Cosmetology Program consists of 1600 clocked hours, of which 75% is spent performing hands-on applications. The Esthetician Program consists of 600 clocked hours, of which 75% is spent performing hands-on applications. The program also houses a salon which is open to the public and prepares students for their career by providing real life training.
