Wave Tribe Hemp Surfboard Bags Confiscated By US Customs

LOS ANGELES - Dec. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Wave Tribe’s recent shipment of hemp boardbags was confiscated by United States Customs while en route to their warehouse in Ojai, California.

Customs officials were purported to have asked Derek Dodds, the founder of Wave Tribe, ‘if the surfboard bags were smokable?’ Dodds is reported to have said, ‘Mr. Officer Bro, you could try but I wouldn’t recommend it.”

He then went on to educate the officer about hemp and reminded him the THC levels in Industrial Hemp are so low that no one could get high from smoking it. Moreover, hemp contains a relatively high percentage of another cannabinoid, CBD, that actually blocks the marijuana high. Hemp, it turns out, is not only not marijuana; it could be called "anti-marijuana".

The good news is that the surfboard bags were released after a US Customs x-ray examination. The boardbags are currently recovering from their traumatizing experience at the Wave Tribe headquarters in Ojai, California—however, the hemp surfboard cases are available for travel and surfboard protection assignments.

This season’s hemp collection includes new innovative and stylish designs with   quality improvements like YKK zippers and 25mm of unprecedented padding in the two-board travel series. A full run of Mini Simmons bags, day boardbags, global board bags and a series of deluxe hemp surfboard travel bags with wheels are available.
