Monthly Alert: Pump and Dump Stock Spam

In this report we analyze a Pump and Dump campaign that we blocked for our customers. In this type of scam, someone holding shares of a cheap stock tries to artificially inflate its value by spreading a favorable rumor about the company and then dumps the shares when the prices rise from the resulting increase in buying. We also correlate the email spam campaign with actual market data for the stock that was the subject of the scam.
