Follow on Google News | Award-Winning Britcom Script Now Available in PaperbackGarry Berman and Kelly Marie Thompson have published their six episode comedy series in a new book titled Barkers Upon Tyne.
By: MoonGlow PR ‘Barkers Upon Tyne’ is a 6-episode British comedy series about three siblings in their 20s living together in Newcastle and often interfering in each other’s lives. In 2012, ‘Barkers Upon Tyne – Pilot’ episode won a Top 10 finish in the ‘Television/Movie Script’ category of the 81st Annual Writer's Digest Writing Competition. When asked why the collaborators (who haven’t yet met in person) chose to publish the scripts, Garry Berman replied, “We know the enormous hurdles involved in trying to get a script produced. So, we thought just in case that doesn't happen for us, Barkers can still exist in book form, and people can enjoy it as they might enjoy reading a light comic novel. This just happens to be in dialogue format. But if anyone's interested in producing it, we'll listen!” And what’s next for this writing team? “Garry and I are currently writing a novel set around Beatlemania in the 1960s,” says Kelly Marie Thompson. “The story follows two trans-Atlantic penpals, one from Liverpool and one from New Jersey, as their lives, friendship and fanaticism develop to the backdrop of the Beatles' historic moments.” Barkers Upon Tyne is available at www.Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/ Garry Berman is a lifelong Anglophile and lives in Westampton, NJ.
