ABU DHABI, UAE - Nov. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- The 99 exhibition will comprise of 99 paintings of the 99 Names of Allah and will be open to public for 99 days till 11th March 2014.

An eagerly awaited art event by many follower and friends of Art Noor, this exhibition is the 7th exhibition by the contemporary artist and painter Noor, who fuses the modern expressionistic abstraction with the calligraphic forms of the divine and beautiful names of the creator.

The canvases on display are in varied sizes and genres, ranging from 3 square meters to a quarter of square meter, and reflect the inner passion of the artist by the bold strokes and energy fused with color harmonies.

His contention of taking the art to the people, right from the start of his career as a professional artist more than a decade ago reflects in his preference to showcase his art outside the confines of art gallery circuit, into the realm of everyone and everyday life.

He chose to hold this major exhibition of his works at the newly built World Trade Center Souk at Abu Dhabi, when he received their invitation to exhibit and hold art events at the venue, for more reasons than one. First of which being the harmony of concept of the WTC Souk with his art.

The WTC Souk has been built on the location where the traditional market of Abu Dhabi called the central market was. It was the heart of shopping and events in Abu Dhabi for 40 years. Which has been now transformed into in an artistic destination, of great architectural beauty by architects Foster + Partners, using the fusion of historical with the modern. Which is what Art Noor does in his paintings of the 99 names of Allah.

Inspired by the traditional calligraphic forms of the divine names, he builds his contemporary interpretation on canvas, with layer upon layer of acrylic, oil ,ink and metallic pigments to create the art which connects to the hearts through the meanings of the beautiful attributes.

A must attend exhibition for everyone to experience of the art and venue in tandem. The spiritual re- rejuvenation will be an added bonus.

The special invitation to the events and the Art book published for the event can be had by registering and visiting the event at http://www.artnoor.com, the website of the artist Art Noor

Art Noor is the multidisciplinary fine artist who has been living and working professionally in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi -  the cities following the path of the fast growth and development on all fronts.

The recent successful bid by Dubai for Expo 2020 has opened up more possibilities for a creative and artists and professionals like Art Noor, who is comfortable in working at many disciplines and projects.

He calls himself "the hybrid artist" because he is forever juxtaposing things and ideas to explore and create newer paradigms not only in visual art but also the performance and multidimensional ones.

Driven by the inspiration to discover newer horizons in artistic endeavors, he is not only keen to be exhibit globally, but has been working on an exhibition which he wants to showcase at Art Basel, in the year 2014.

Art Noor had published an Art book in the month of August 2013, called the names of Allah : paintings by Art Noor, which has been a great success and had to reprinted in large quantities to fulfill the demand from the corporate sector, who distributed the books as complimentary gifts.

In this book he had featured more than hundred of his works with the meaning of the divine names in English. Almost 240 pages, this hardbound book is handy companion for spiritual inspiration and meditation for the Muslims who comprise majority of the population in his part of the world.

Though, the names in the book are derived friom the Quran, but its appeal is not limited to any specific religious and spiritual community.

It depicts the divine names of the creator, who created the heavens and the earth and everything else that we cannot even fathom.

The 99 exhibition, will be a contemplative and spiritually uplifting event since it intends being just that. Art Noor favorite remark on the subject is is " I do nothing " and " I am nothing ".  Perhaps being an instrument is a a great honor from the creator that I can attempt to paint his names.

He believes in the adage, If you believe it, you will see it. It's that simple. If you believe truly, then belief shall carve out a reality for you. Which includes an artist's relationship with the creator. He quips, “Let’s not forget, God is the ultimate creator. He is one who actually created from nothing. Including the beings, who think themselves to be creative."

"Surrender" he says, is an important step, not only in Islam, but also in art. Picasso, remarked about putting the mind aside, while painting. To allow to come through, what will as the instinct or the inspiration. The problem is we think too much and imagine we know too much. But we really know very little and cannot fathom the creator or his designs. Al we can probably do is attempt to connect with him - either by contemplation or meditation, and leave the rest to him. That is the true spirit of surrender"

The 99 exhibition intends to prompt the art lovers to think of art not just as entertainment, rather as a catalyst to deeper thought and reflection.
