Volunteers Take to the Streets for Clean Up in East Hollywood and Raise Environmental Awareness

LOS ANGELES - Nov. 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Volunteers from “I Clean LA” in East Hollywood took to the streets again to raise awareness on environmental issues through participating in cleanup activities on Santa Monica Blvd. This was followed by the distribution hand-to-hand of copies of The Way to Happiness, a non-religious, commonsense moral code which includes the precept "Safeguard and Improve Your Environment".

Volunteers led by Claire Taylor from the Church of Scientology Los Angeles and local tutor Dionicio Barcenas have in just a few weeks covered an area of over a dozen blocks passing copies of The Way to Happiness to residents and businesses and participating in and organizing numerous clean up events. Claire stated, “This project is becoming very successful with the community. We often have people from the neighborhood join in with our activities surrounding our Church and we are often asked to assist in other neighborhoods and are also active in clean ups organized by Los Angeles City Council District 13.”

After this weekend’s activities involving residents and businesses in areas surrounding Santa Monica Boulevard & Vermont Ave in East Hollywood, Dionicio stated, "In just a few weeks we have passed hand-to-hand several thousand copies of 'The Way to Happiness' as a gift to local businesses and residents which are warmly welcomed by all. Not only do they appreciate the booklet which promotes workable moral values, they also pass this onto others encouraging them also to improve and take care of the local area.”

With an ever increasing concern about environmental issues in the world today, The Way to Happiness has been used the world over to increase awareness on safeguarding and improving the environment through World Environment Day, Earth Day and clean up activities organized in cities throughout the world.
