Real Estate Agent Shelly Howe, MBA broke the agent training mold when she ignored suggestions by colleagues and sales trainers to pick a geographical location like a community in Brampton, Richmond Hill or Toronto where she does the majority of her business and become the market expert in that area! Shelly says “this strategy makes perfect sense on face value, but a crafty agent can Google her way through statistics, comparable properties, local news and even school ratings, salability, shopping, transit and anything else her client may want to know about the neighborhood they are buying or selling in.” When Shelly entered the market she chose to use the internet to her advantage and change up how she was going to serve her clients. Shelly ties her efforts in with her French Canadian heritage. Realizing how many francophone and Francophile residents there are in the GTA, Shelly thought it best to serve her clients in their mother tongue. “Buying a home is one of the largest and most important decisions a person will make in their lifetime….I think when you are talking about someone’s hard earned money, they should be able to feel comfortable reviewing OREA contracts, offers and making decisions in a language that is very familiar to them. Buying real estate, renting a house or a condo is not like buying cereal at the grocery store, this is more than a structure…we are talking about a home” explains Shelly Howe. To better serve her clients and address a void in the area market, Shelly took the initiative to compile information in the form of a pocket size guide, or online resource which is useful to anyone renting and/or buying property in Ontario and compile a French Guide to Buying and Renting property! The guide is free to anyone who is interested.
This free Real Estate Guide will be distributed by early 2014 to local companies, French schools, not for profit organizations like Le Centre Francophone, Le Centre OASIS and immigration lawyer offices that may have members and clients who can benefit from the guide.
