Every year, the Simi Y identifies local needy families and then donates and delivers Christmas trees to each of them. “The YMCA was the first organization to sell Christmas trees in Simi Valley,” says Al Eastin, a member of the Simi Y’s Men’s Club. "That was back in the 1970s. What makes our lot different from other Christmas tree lots is that all the proceeds go to charity and volunteers run the lot. No one is paid.” Christmas tree lot hours are 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The tree lot is located at the Y (3200 Cochran St., corner of Galena Ave. and Cochran St., in Simi Valley). Five-dollar- End
