Instreamia's Free Adpative Spanish Course for All Returns

 
NEW YORK - Nov. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- After a tremendous success in its first offering, a free Spanish course by SpanishMOOC (http://spanishmooc.com) is back! Instreamia will host the 4 week course beginning January 13, 2014.

This course is for students with no background in Spanish to communicate through listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Registration for the course is available immediately, enroll here (https://www.instreamia.com/class/376041/enroll). Students will be expected to dedicate 6 hours per week, for a total of 24 hours. Although the course cannot provide college credit from an accredited university, capable students will learn material from the first part of a first-year college class, and will receive a letter grade.

The course will be a combination of recorded video instruction, conversation practice with other students, and homework assignments given and evaluated through the integrated Instreamia learning platform.  In these assignments, students will practice listening recognition, vocabulary understanding, context comprehension, and grammar usage.

Assessment criteria for the determination of each student’s letter grade will be 4 homework assignments, conversation participation, 3 quizzes, and a final.

After completing this course, students will be prepared with the basic skills of speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish in order to communicate with native speakers. The basic grammar principles, including verb conjugations, article usage, and pronoun usage will be introduced. Students will learn the culture of Spanish-speaking countries through videos and conversations.

The primary course facilitator will be Scott Rapp. Scott has has lived abroad in Honduras and taught Spanish to adults at Brigham Young University’s language training center. He has also developed blended learning solutions for language acquisition. Learners of this course will learn from interactive exercises based on real native content through social media and online video. Additionally, native Spanish speakers and Spanish professors will be invited to guest lecture.
