Grand Opening Celebration, Friday, Dec. 6

Colorado Springs, Colo.. – Nov. 21, 2013 - Bicycle Experience of Colorado Springs is excited to announce the opening of their second retail bike shop located at the Ivywild School.  The soft opening will take place at 1pm, this Friday, Nov. 22, 2013.  The Grand Opening celebration is Friday, Dec. 6^th, 2013.

“To be part of the Ivywild School project is very exciting,” said co-owner Todd Hood. “We’re very passionate about this neighborhood, which is why we now have two locations on this side of town. After 20 years in the Army, and spending four and a half years of my last seven years deployed, this adventure of being a bike shop owner has allowed my dream to come true. I'm very lucky and thankful to have my wife's support on this journey.”

The Grand Opening festivities on Dec. 6 will boast handmade treats by The Old School Bakery, local craft beer by Bristol Brewing Co. and giveaways, including brand new bikes, bike bags, cycling clothing, riding gear & more! Shop the handmade recycled bike art, clocks, jewelry and key chains. In addition, Bicycle Experience will carry new product lines such as, Green Guru, Dakine, Teva, Smith and Club Ride. Full Service bike shop offering Strider, Surly, Fat Bikes, SE Bikes, Specialized and refurbished used bikes.

“I was born and raised in the birthplace of BMX in Southern California and I raced hard from age 9-20 and held several national titles,” said co-owner Bubba Hayes. I spent 25 years being an Owner/Operator of a moving company and knew my heart and soul belonged in a bike shop. With the support of my wife we decided to buy Bicycle Experience!  To own 2 bike shops is awesome.  At times it is start hard to believe. I can’t wait for the opening and our huge Grand Opening sale.”

The Hayes and Hood families are well known and deeply appreciated for their dedication of time, energy, raising awareness, hosting races/clinics and raising money for the local non-profit Pikes Peak BMX track. Bicycle Experience also sponsors a Factory BMX Team of 10 racers and a local Bike Shop team of 15 racers.  Bicycle Experience is committed to exposing the community to racing and hosted bike shop rides.
