MISSION VIEJO, Calif. - Nov. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Mission Viejo Divorce Attorney Daniel Hunter, of The Hunter Law Group, was recently interviewed on The Business Leader Spotlight Show, which serves as a way for successful business leaders to impart helpful knowledge onto other entrepreneurs and professionals. In the radio show interview, Attorney Hunter discussed various aspects of divorce and family law in California. Mr. Hunter has been practicing law since 1998, and has been primarily focusing on family law since 2001.

In the radio interview, Attorney Hunter covered a broad range of topics. When discussing what individuals should be prepared for when going into the divorce process, the experienced lawyer explained that they should be prepared to have patients as their matters are being resolved, considering California’s “cooling off” period (or its waiting period). He noted that they should also anticipate conflict to arise, especially as they undergo the property division process and the process of division of parenting time. When providing advice about what people should expect from an initial consultation with a family attorney, Attorney Hunter said they should expect a free exchange of information (which includes the attorney both carefully listening to the client and asking tough questions); a clear explanation of the attorney’s costs (including the increments in which fees are charged); and a general analysis by the lawyer of the relevant laws, how those laws relate to the person’s case and what approach the attorney recommends.

In Attorney Hunter’s discussion on different aspects of divorce and family law, he explained how California family court judges base child custody decisions on the “best interest of the child,” which gives them broad discretion to grant court orders that work best for each family on a case-by-case basis.  Other areas he talked about on the radio show included options for having children’s preferences considered in child custody decisions, divorces that involve a non-working spouse or lower-wage earner, and  divorces that involve cases of domestic violence. In his closing statements on The Business Leader Spotlight Show, Attorney Hunter reminded listeners that not every law firm is right for every client--people need to choose the legal counselors who are best suited for them. This includes finding an attorney one trusts and feels comfortable with, an attorney who clearly explains the client’s options and lets the client decide, and an attorney how has a strong track record.
